Ruben Ruzafa and Hele­na Karasko­va win XTERRA Italy – Scan­no

The old cham­pi­on Ruben Ruzafa (ESP) starts after a long absence at XTERRA events this sea­son a furi­ous race to catch up in the XTER­AR Euro­pean Tour rank­ing: After 3rd place at the XTERRA France now the first vic­to­ry this year at the XTERRA Italy – Scan­no. Xavier Daf­flon from Switzer­land took 2nd place with only 57 sec­onds behind, but just 5 min­utes ahead of Fil­ip­po Baraz­zuol from Italy.

Hele­na Karasko­va once again showed her strength in the women’s XTERRA races, which were tech­ni­cal­ly and con­di­tion­al­ly demand­ing. On the MTB track she had a 3-minute lead, which she man­aged to extend to 5 min­utes ahead of the Ital­ian San­dra Mairhofer dur­ing the split. 3rd place went to Eva Gar­cia Gon­za­lez from Spain.

Rui Dolores (ESP) still leads in the men’s tour rank­ing. Hele­na Karasko­va has tak­en the lead for the women.
