Arthur Serrieres and Morgane Riou win XTERRA European Championship in Prachatice CZ

Another double victory for France and that with a very large starting field – the biggest of this year’s tour.

The old champion Ruben Ruzafa (ESP) led together with the world champion Bradley Weiss (RSA) for a long time and it almost looked like a victory for Ruzafa. But then the young Frenchman started for the final sprint and overtook the Spaniard on the last 2 kilometres of the running track. 3rd place went to Bradley Weiss.

The British rider Jacqui Slack once again showed her qualities as an excellent mountain biker. However, she also profited a little from the initial problems that the Czech Karaskova had on the bike course. Swimming without neoprene had been quite a problem for her. But at the latest on the run split she had to be reckoned with again and she started to catch up together with the Frenchwoman Riou. They managed to overtake the Brit. The Swiss Luanne Duvoisin also managed to pass Jacqui and to push herself to 3rd place.

Xavier Dafflon (SUI) and Helena Karaskova-Erbenova (CZE) now lead the XTERRA Tour classification.
