Xavier Dafflon and Carina Wasle win XTERRA Finland

A week ago both were on the podium at the XTERRA European Championship in Zittau…. The Swiss Dafflon, a brilliant biker, was determined to win the elite field in the far north. Peter Lehmann (GER) stayed close to him, but could not really become dangerous during the final trail run. 3rd place went to the Austrian Dominik Wychera.

Among the women, the most active and industrious XTERRA pro-athlete of the European series could finally be happy about a victory at a race of the tour. All in all, however, she has already been on the “podium” twelve times this season, an unbelievable performance. She relegated the British Nicole Walters to second place and the Swiss Miss Renata Bucher to third.

With this victory Carina consolidated her leading position in the tour ranking, ahead of Brigitta Poor from Hungary and Helena Karaskova from the Czech Republic. Francois is still in first place in the men’s XTERRA European Tour, Peter Lehmann is moving up to second place, which he obviously likes after the not so good race in Zittau and displaces Roger Serrano (ESP) to third place.

We are curious if much will change in the order after XTERRA Norway and XTERRA Denmark.
