ELITE RACING AND AMATEUR QUALIFICATION TO MAUI
Amateur racers have the chance to secure a spot into the 25th annual XTERRA World Championship in Kapalua, Maui at every race. There are 51 qualifying slots awarded at each of the Gold level events in Croatia, France-Xonrupt, Italy-Scanno and Germany, and 26 slots awarded at the Silver level races in Malta, Greece, Portugal, Italy-Garda, Belgium, Switzerland, France-Nouvelle Aquitaine, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Age groupers also have the opportunity to win the XTERRA European Tour title which will qualify them for their choice of the 2020 or 2021 XTERRA World Championship race. The rules are simple, every race counts and most points wins.
New this year, elite racers count 50% of their races, plus one. If 14 races on Tour, your best 8 scores count, regardless if gold or silver and must include whatever they score – or don’t score – at the championship race in Germany. So a start at the European Championships is virtually a must if you want to be among the leaders, whether you are an elite or an amateur.
