Hele­na Karasko­va and Yer­ay Lux­em win XTERRA Lux­em­bourg

At the pre­miere of the XTERRA Lux­em­bourg the Czech Hele­na Karasko­va was once again suc­cess­ful. After the swim she was in 5th place and advanced in her usu­al man­ner to 2nd place. Only the French Alizee Paties was able to stand up to her. How­ev­er, Hele­na Karasko­va is also a good run­ner and was able to take the lead on the 10km trail run and extend it to more than 2 min­utes. 2nd place went to Alizee Paties (FRA), 3rd place went to Lizzi Orchard (NZL).

Already with his vic­to­ry at the XTERRA Bel­gium Yer­ay Lux­em set a warn­ing sign. With his 2nd vic­to­ry in the BENELUX series, the Bel­gian under­lined his bril­liant form this sea­son. Com­ing out of the water 50 sec­onds after Jens Roth (DEU), Lux­em fought his way to 2nd place on the MTB split and then over­took Roth, who had been lead­ing until then. Also the French­man Arthur Ser­ri­eres passed Roth and secured 2nd place. But also 3rd place is again an excel­lent per­for­mance of the like­able Ger­man Jens Roth. After his 2nd place at the XTERRA Ger­many he again secured a podi­um place at a strong XTERRA race of the Euro­pean Tour.

Hele­na Karasko­va con­tin­ues to extend her lead in the Tour rank­ing. For men, Arthur Ser­ri­eres leads com­fort­ably ahead of the Swiss Xavier Daf­flon. With the XTERRA Nether­land on 14.9. there is only one race left and Hele­na Karasko­va is already the win­ner of the tour. For the men there is still a tiny chance for the now sec­ond placed Daf­flon to win, name­ly if he wins at the XTERRA Nether­lands and the up to now lead­ing Ser­ri­eres as DNS, DNQ or DNF goes into the clas­si­fi­ca­tion.
